One Last Drive - Vermont
Favorite photo of the week.
I figured I'd start a blog feature, mainly as a reminder to post.  I've been out of the blogging thing for so long so it's hard to get back into the habit.

So here goes - weekly favorite shot!  (See the gallery below to view these images at a proper size.)

We took a trip to Vermont after work to sell Brent's car on Saturday but brought the cameras for a Sunday excursion to Barre that never happened because we couldn't find a hotel room near Burlington and ended up having to drive all the way back to Brattleboro.  I tried to photograph a car fire we passed in New Hampshire, but it was already out.

There have been so many car fires this year, I'm surprised I haven't gotten another shot like this one, captured near Albany in September 2008 with my point and shoot Kodak.  I suppose there will be more, though there have already been six or seven on I-395 in the past two months, along with one in our own neighborhood earlier this year. (What is up with that?)

All I've been shooting with the 7D otherwise were just more product photos, and this is not my Etsy shop blog, so I'm not going to share them here.  My shop blog, which I rebooted today, can be found here: Mannequin Reject Emporium - Behind the Scenes!

This is my grandparents' garage.  I was walking through it a week ago and noticed how neat every last little thing was, so I wanted a picture.  The bulk of my Etsy/eBay inventory is stored at their house, so I spend a lot of time working there.
I've been working hard lately on product photos for my Etsy and eBay endeavors.  I spent about a week shooting photos of new products and my older product photos haven't even been re-done since 2009-2010 (my earliest DSLR days) or worse.

Over the weekend, I did a little comparison and quite frankly, the older photos are such garbage that there is no comparison.  I remember the photos that I thought were "good enough" or even "fantastic" and all I see in them are flaws.

Funny thing is, the new pictures seem pretty fantastic right now to me. haha.  We'll see what I think in five years.

Here's some of the new photos.  I might do a reflective before & after with the old photos in the future, but don't feel like really embarrassing myself yet.  If I did, I'd post some polaroids of my bedroom from 1994.
